Doggie Dog

I must brag for a little while...........

Let me tell you a little about our dogs, Skipper & Trixie. A couple months after we got married we adopted Trixie & Skipper from a local rescue organization called Guardian Angel Pet Rescue (GAPR). We went to an adoption drive at the local Petco with the intentions of "looking" at the dogs up for adoption. Well, well - we both have a soft spot in our hearts for animals and we left with two dogs. GAPR makes sure the home is adequate for the dog(s) and the foster family brings them over to check everything out.

So long story short, our dogs were rescue dogs. No one knew their background because they were found in an animal shelter in AR on the "kill" list. GAPR goes around to local shelters and places dogs and cats on the "kill" list in foster homes until a forever home is found. We don't even know if they are related but they act like brother and sister and have many of the same markings.

What am I bragging about you are wondering.................Both dogs are wonderful with Britton. They have been since day one. Britton has put them through sooo many "tests", weather it be pulling ears, pulling tails, using them as a step stool, riding them like a pony, chasing them with the toy vacuum/umbrella/broom etc and only has Skipper once turned his face towards her as if to say "You're about to be in trouble little miss" - never have either of them tried to bite her.

For this Britton has NO fear of dogs - - this might be a bad thing one day!!!  We took her to the dog park recently and a quick 15 min walk around took over an hour because she wanted to stop and pet each dog and talk to them. It's really sweet to see her interact with them.

Britton tries really hard to say their names. Trixie's name came first to her but is said "Trissy". She has recently started calling/yelling Skipper and it comes out as "Dipper".  Almost every night at bath time Trixie will come to the bathtub for tea time and enjoy a lovely bath water cup of tea. This morning B was watching Moose A Moose video's on my iphone and she kept putting the screen up to Skippers face and saying "Look Dipper, look Dipper".

We really couldn't have asked for two better dogs to be in our family. Thanks Trixie Anne & Skipper Dog, you are the best dogs (apart from Amber!!).
